Family Photos

We finally got our family pictures back. We like them, but not as much as the first shoot. We had a good time though. After taking some at Alameda, R wanted to go to the "park" at the end of 1st st. Here we're walking to find a place to take a photo. I didn't even know she took this shot. I'll so you more later. This is just a teaser!

End of the day...

Here's the results of the day. The plumber did not have to tear out the sidewalk. It took him 2 1/2 hours to fix the leak. He said that it had probably be leaking for some time and after our next water bill, it should go down. The cost was do-able. Praise God!
The dishwasher can be fixed for under $25!! Just have to wait a few days for the part to come in.
The showers isn't fixed, yet. The house is clean. I made a great dinner. Crock Pot Fried Pork Chops (SM recipe!!), garlic noodles and veggies. I also made Pumpkin Pie Bread. It's one of thee best pumpkin breads I've made! Everyone liked dinner.
We got our free tacos from TB and the teenagers working there gave us free drinks too!
DH & DC are at the church, choir, play practice. So I had myself some coffee and a bowl of ice cream (2 scoops). I said that I was going to mop the floor, but scrapped instead. Two hours to myself!!!
Oh, we got a statement/bill from the Dr. who worked on C toe that said we owe over $600 in the mail today. I called; they called me back. No problem, they'll take care of it!
Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!
Good night! (again no misspelled words!! I'm on a roll!)

Today...

Here's what's going on in our household today. We have a water leak near the water meter, our side, under the sidewalk. A plumber in coming sometime today to fix it. Our dishwasher leaks. It has been for awhile. R's getting off early to take it to someone to look at it, order the part. So we are hand washing all of our dishes. Which is nice, but time consuming. Last night one of our DC dropped our coffee pot. We had to get a new coffee maker. (This one is NICE.) Our cold water in our shower is almost a trickle. The kids woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

BUT, I'm doing good. The dishes are done, shower-done, clothes almost all put away, the kids mood has changed, school went smooth today, God is in control. And when I spellchecked this post there were NO misspelled words found!!! Glory be!
Hope all is well with you!

More pictures

Another shoot in front of Mountain Annie's. Sorry they are so blurry. The start of the show. It did get more colorful.
Bill came into the audience.

Here's he's almost to me. He asked me if I wanted to play his instrument...um no! The older lady at our table said she wouldn't have played the guitar either. It was rather embarrassing.

After the show. It was cold in Ruidoso.

Pic from our date

In front of Mountain Annie's.

We were early, so we went to Starbucks first and played chess.

No one won, we had to leave before we finished the game.

I got hot tea! Can you believe it? R got a pumpkin spice type of coffe and I got a tea. I am not really a Starbucks girl.

Mountain Annie's

Sooo...We went to Ruidoso for dinner and entertainment at Mountain Annie's for our date!! R sure did surprise me!! We had a great time. We were seated at a table with strangers (so out of my comfort zone!) who became great people. They were related, from Clovis & Bertalles (sp?). When our food arrived, they prayed over their food!! So we got talking about church. They actually know the pastor at our church up there. Pastor Peter Aulson!! One of the men said the "Pastor Pete" prayed for his brother and got instantly healed! The brother was so moved that he has become a "believer!" Small world. They were a great pleasure to sit with. One couple was probably in their 40's and the other, her parents, probably in 70's. The two ladies were like southern belles. The older lady, oh I so liked her, was so sweet. It was a great night.

George & Barbara Staerkel with Bill Wells
Master musicians George and Barbara Staerkel. George is a former lead singer for the Tokens best known for their song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". He can play over 50 instruments and has a 5 octave vocal range. Barbara has the voice of an angel and can play anything with strings. George and Barbara are accompanied by their Guitarist Extraordinaire Bill Wells. Bill makes his double neck guitar, as well as his other guitars, sound simply amazing. A different show on each day, once you see the first, you'll come again and again

A quick note!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you some of the latest news. The kids and I went on a field tripOct. 17th to a pumpkin patch/corn maze. That was fun, an all day event. This morning we had our family photo shoot. Tonight R is taking me on a mystery date. All I know is what time we are leaving, to dress nice and to dress warm. Hmmm...very excited about it! It's been too long since we've been on a date! I'll let you know the details later. That's about all for now.

Have a great day!

Fave Recipe

I have many things to write about, but not the time. :( I've noticed that I get more of you to comment when this is an interactive thing! heehee...so, I wanted to ask you ladies for a favor. I make up my grocery list/menu for two weeks. Sometimes I get tired of looking at the same recipes...anyway, could you give me your favorite fall recipe/s? No desserts (unless it's totally worth the calories!! LOL!), please. You can either leave them in the comments or link me to them of whatever!!

Thanks so much!

Hunting...bringing home the...

R & J went hunting Monday. They didn't get anything but squirrels. However, they found this abandoned tent! It's a 4-man tent. It was obvious that someone left it. We only have a 2 man tent, which means we all can't go camping together. (You know how much I LOVE camping !!! HA! Not!) So now, I have no excuse. R washed it out and with the rain we got Mon/Tue I think it's probably pretty clean.

On another note, once again the Red Sox on in a do or die situation. Oh, such is the life of the RS fan.

One more thing, J has another word..."heim". He & him put together.

Stinky!

Warning: if you don't like bug stories, don't read on!
Tonight I learned a lesson. Why the stink beetle has his name. I'm in the office (R's working nights again.), hearing noises. I've got the flashlight out looking for a mouse or something. Come to find out there's a stink bug coming out of the crawl space in the ceiling! I leave the room, come back, it's on the floor. So, I smoosh (the computer is telling me this is not a word.) it!!! HAHA! Now the room is filled with this strange perfuming smell. Wonderful. Why doesn't nature stay outside!!!

I'm not answering my phone!

Uggggh! I have to vent here for a minute. I just got off of the phone with yet another "poll". (We get them ALL of the time. Most of the time we don't even bother answering.) This girl has got to top them all. She totally did not want to be calling me. Between her chewing her gum & sighing she'd ask her question (which greatly needed help). When I'd answer she'd reply, "Wwwwhaaaat?" No joke! She got to about five questions then I couldn't take anymore. I told her, "You can't understand what I'm saying. So, I'm done."

God's Grace

I made this the day after she got work on her toe. C is growing into such a beautiful lady that I am humbled by God's grace on our lives. To know that you aren't a perfect parent and know the mistakes you've made and to have a daughter like her, is simply God's grace.
Credits here.

Very early morning post

It's VERY early Monday morning. R had to work tonight so I am staying up way too late. (I don't like to sleep w/o him.)

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on C's toe. Friday we went to the Dr. He looked at it and ended up cutting the parts of her toenail that were ingrown, right there. She did SOOOO good. They had to spray some cold stuff on it and give her 3 shots in her toe. It swelled up all fat. She didn't even cry! After about 5-10 min they came back and cut the nail. She only "complained" of the coldness of her foot. I know that God has healed her/held back the pain. It hasn't hurt her once!!! It's amazing. She even went on an impact team to Socorro on sat, all day!! (The Dr. & Dad said it was ok.) She's one tough cookie. When I told her that she might not be able to go that is when she shed a few tears. Her heart is SO big for souls. We just have to keep it wrapped, washed, etc for 5-7 days. It's already looking good.
I had better get.
