No More Tears

Just wanted to update you on some of the little things going on in our lives.

Some of you know that my eyes water like crazy. In the wind, breeze, outside, under a fan, just for nothing sometimes. Well, I went to have my eyes checked yesterday (for new glasses). My eyes really only changed ever so slightly, So no need for new glasses! I will order new sunglasses, LONG over due! My watery eyes came up. To make a long story short, my eyes aren't producing the oil under the eyelids that they need so they water. They are actually a bit infected. (yuck) So, I have to put lubricating eye drops (prescription) in 4 times a day and go back in a week. Also, the Dr. told me to wash my eyelashes daily with baby shampoo. He said that the lashes are a bed for bacteria. (yuck again) So the pic below is my eye meds. I can feel the difference already! J made this. Isn't it cute.

C took this photo. Her jeans are a bit long. I tell her to roll them up while we are at home so she's not walking on them. Obviously, she's not!

Spring is here ate our house. You can smell the honeysuckle from our bedroom. Lovely. Our turtles are out too. I know the warm weather's here to stay once they come out. Sadly one did die over the winter. It was Cooper, our first one. I guess she got stuck under the brick. They bury themselves each winter. J found here. So now we are down to two males and one female again.

Excitement and a Deal

What a few days! I'm going to work backwards from today to a few days ago.

I go to an online local Yard Sale site where people can sell/but items here locally. There's one item for free that I was like "What!?" Someone actually put a piece of paper up for free!! Just a plain old piece of paper. Someone claimed it! I know people joke around, but a piece of paper!

Today is the day that we (at ScrapMatters) show off our latest kit. Round four of the contest we had to make a full kit. So in a few hours I'll be posting that. I don't know exactly when they'll pick the winner/s. I hope soon.

Also, today I cleaned the carpets and R is going through his stuff in the garage! Do you want to come over?? heehee It is WINDY once again! We've had winds up to 60 mph this week. You can't see the mtns. because of the dust. Yuck!

Thursday night, around midnight police & ambulance came around our corner, down our street. One of our neighbors' houses. It worried me because they have a newborn and two other kids. One of whom is J's age. More on the boy later. The next day, we went over to see what happened. The newborn was choking on milk and couldn't breath. She is okay and the mom was touched that we came by.

This family has been on out hearts a lot lately. The son is the neighborhood pain. Sorry, but he is. He was nice for awhile at first, then, we think out of jealousy, turned against J. He would literally ride by our house and make mean faces, talk about R and J, saying awful things. J even hit him once because of the stuff he'd say. He is not the most innocent kid either. The family speaks broken English, and are a different religion then us. None of these we have a problem with. When the mom was over due with her baby, I really began to pray for her and the family. J put in a prayer request for them too. I tell you something has changed in the boy. He bought J an ice cream from the ice cream truck. He is nice now. We never had a problem with the family, just the boy. So when we saw the ambulance there, we were really concerned.

Oh, also this week C found these cool shoes at the thrift store. R had always liked Chuck Taylor's (the old style high tops). He was just talking about them. She got some black, white and pink ones for under $4! Too cute. The guys are both jealous! Here's LO I made of them!

Have a great day!

Stinky!

Warning: if you don't like bug stories, don't read on!
Tonight I learned a lesson. Why the stink beetle has his name. I'm in the office (R's working nights again.), hearing noises. I've got the flashlight out looking for a mouse or something. Come to find out there's a stink bug coming out of the crawl space in the ceiling! I leave the room, come back, it's on the floor. So, I smoosh (the computer is telling me this is not a word.) it!!! HAHA! Now the room is filled with this strange perfuming smell. Wonderful. Why doesn't nature stay outside!!!

Ok, one more balloon story!

On with our balloon adventures...we were driving back home and saw that this duckie balloon was landing, so in hot pursuit, I followed it. As you can see these balloons pretty much land almost anywhere. This one landed by someone's house. The girls went our to get a closer look and the balloon crew asked if they'd like to help!! So they helped spread the tarp out for the balloon to come down on. How cool is that!

The poor little (big) duckie went down on it's face. When they tugged on it, the mouth actually opened and closed. Here they are waiting for it to deflate so they could keep it away from the bushes.
I wanted them to get a picture by the balloon...here's what they gave me! Looks like they are sad, in shock that the balloon is going down!! Haha!

Another Balloon Story!

Friday night C had a friend spend the night. Sat morning we decided to get up and look at the balloons. We drove out to a local park where they launch a good number of them off. We intended to stay in the truck, as we were still in our PJ's. However, we got out. Here's what we saw. Two balloons inflating. (Below are these two balloons completely inflated.)
These two are right next to the balloons in the picture above.
It's he cute!?!
Are you ready for Hallooween?

Once the witch launched pretty much everyone left.

Get The Camera!!!

Some of you may know that this time of year means Hot Air Balloons, at least for one weekend. Well, The Balloon festival was this weekend. Every year the balloons are launched out @ White Sands & over town. We (I) have always love them, driving around town to get to them. I love when you can hear them over your house...the sound the flame makes. This year was no exception. Here's our story, from my point of view.

It's Sunday morning and we (I) am very distracted by the balloons. Going out often to look, take pictures, etc. I finally got into the shower...as I get out and am toweling off, I hear people shouting and the balloons flames very loud. I quickly open the bathroom window to see strange people in our street. I realize that there is a balloon right near our house. I yell to anyone who can hear me, "Get the camera! Get the camera!" I'm trying to dry, dress very quickly. I peek out the kitchen window and realize the balloon landed in our driveway!!!! NO WAY!! "Get the camera!" I surely don't want to miss this. By the time I get dried and dressed enough, the balloon is in the street. Remember, there are strange people all around, even a police man. I'm in a skirt, t-shirt and wet hair out there taking these pics. Am I obsessed!! Haha! The following are the pictures. I do have more, if you'd like.
This is the balloon crew dragging the balloon out to the street.
It's RIGHT there! Can you believe it!
Taking it down in our street.

What an awesome experience! We have seen the balloons land before, but to have one land in your driveway...WOW!!!! Oh, we all made it to church on time!
