RAIN!!! and Some Photos

Here's some photos from J birthday dinner. The steak was outstanding! C didn't eat all of her food. "It's all too good!" Now you don't hear that too often! The pie!
This was yesterday. J is our little entrepreneur. He has been having a pecan stand for a couple of days now. It sprinkled a bit, even rained a bit, but he still sat there waiting for customers. After public school lets out, the neighborhood kids come and join in. He even told one girl, if she sells any while he was eating dinner she could have the $. The kids come to the house asking if J is going to have his stand out. They all love it! It really something. He's made $11. Someone let them keep the change.

C took this photo yesterday. It rained during the night or morning today!! Everything is dark and wet. I love it. We really need it. But I guess no water balloons for J b-day party today!

Birthday Menu...

For our birthdays we make the birthday person's fave dinner for them.

R-differs every time
C-Usually something Mexican and buttermilk pie.
Me- ?? Just no fighting!
J- what does an 11 year old boy want for his birthday. Not much, just grilled steak marinated in Guamanian marinate, Java Jolt ice cream pie, salad and dad's special mashed potatoes! Does he know what he wants or what!

So, tomorrow's going to be a busy day for me with all of this gourmet cooking! I had mentioned this to someone. They know we are not on a steak budget! Last week we got TOTALLY blessed with $100 worth of good steaks! No joke! So not only will he get steaks for his actual birthday he will have them for his party too! The guys are excited! (He invited some of the teens too.)

I will post the Guamanian Marinate for ya later. School's about to start. We have one more week...4 days! I am SO excited! heehee

Random Photos

We planted a small garden yesterday where our pool used to be. We have tomatoes, sweet onions, watermelon, pumpkin, lettuce, and petunias. The kids had a water balloon fight yesterday. J had tons of fun. C got the most wet.

Here's the shot of J when I came out with the camera! "Oh No!"

This is one of the flowers I got for Mom's Day. They were almost completely closed and have opened up everyday. Their smell is so strong that I had to put them outside! When you walk out the back door you can smell them! Amazing! They really did surprise me!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you all had a wonderful mother's day. Here's a few shots from mine. We went to church then had subs in the front yard. Very nice.

My husband, without him I wouldn't, couldn't be the mom I am! Me touched up!

J and I being goofy.

Dolly wanting to get in on the action. C is half in the photo. She was embarrassed to have a picnic in the front yard. We made sure to wave at ALL of the neighbors who drove by! LOL!

YUM!

Awards Banquet

Last night was the Writing Fair Winners Banquet. Colleen won 3rd place for her poem!! This was out of all of the schools in this area even to Mecalero, Holloman, etc! We had a great time!
The two ladies in the photo with her are actually teachers from her old elementary. The one in the background was her kindergarten teacher! So that was special.

No More Tears

Just wanted to update you on some of the little things going on in our lives.

Some of you know that my eyes water like crazy. In the wind, breeze, outside, under a fan, just for nothing sometimes. Well, I went to have my eyes checked yesterday (for new glasses). My eyes really only changed ever so slightly, So no need for new glasses! I will order new sunglasses, LONG over due! My watery eyes came up. To make a long story short, my eyes aren't producing the oil under the eyelids that they need so they water. They are actually a bit infected. (yuck) So, I have to put lubricating eye drops (prescription) in 4 times a day and go back in a week. Also, the Dr. told me to wash my eyelashes daily with baby shampoo. He said that the lashes are a bed for bacteria. (yuck again) So the pic below is my eye meds. I can feel the difference already! J made this. Isn't it cute.

C took this photo. Her jeans are a bit long. I tell her to roll them up while we are at home so she's not walking on them. Obviously, she's not!

Spring is here ate our house. You can smell the honeysuckle from our bedroom. Lovely. Our turtles are out too. I know the warm weather's here to stay once they come out. Sadly one did die over the winter. It was Cooper, our first one. I guess she got stuck under the brick. They bury themselves each winter. J found here. So now we are down to two males and one female again.

Sleep Talking

So my husband has a habit of talking and laughing in his sleep. He usually goes to sleep first, and I read. Many times he will start talking in his sleep or laughing. We've had many funny, nonsense conversations over the years.
Here's one from last night.

Me reading, him starting to giggle and talk...

Me: What did you say?

Him: (not very understandable)

Me: What?

Him: (again not to understandable.)

Me: What are you laughing about?

Him: You have a tattoo.

Me: Where?

Him: (again, he's half asleep so it's hard to understand him) It's your identification.

Me: What?

Him: (Cutting this a bit short for your sake) You have a tattoo on your face for your identification.

Me: Do you have a tattoo?

Him: No, giggle.

Me: why not?

Him: Enough questions.

Me: laughing now. I think I asked him another question as he was falling back to sleep. I really need to record these. Some have been too funny!

Have a great day!
