Duh Alert!

Okay, now for a blond moment.

Me: Honey, I thing there's something wrong with the cruise control.

Honey: What's wrong?

Me: I tried setting it and it wouldn't stick.

Honey: Where were you driving?

Me: In town. Since our radar detector's broken I wanted to set the cruise control.

Honey: (trying not to laugh too hard.) It won't work under 35mph.

Me: (Red faced) Ooohh, that's why it wouldn't work.

Deming Photos!

After two days in Deming I have lots of pics! We are all beat. J got sick as soon as we pulled into the church parking lot. He still is fighting a stomach something.
Here's a sample of what happened there. 26 people got saved! We had three concerts. Rap at the high school. Us at McDonald's. Sat we had both groups at the courthouse park. Many people got touched. We met some of the Deming folks Friday night too.

I found this drinking fountain interesting.
J & his best friend I. Couldn't get a non-goofy photo out of these guys! Yes, this is M Luna! He rapped with his dad! He has a great voice!

Our teens witnessing to the Deming teens at the HS.

A. Luna with baby Luna! And a new convert witnessing!

Fred praying with a lady in the McDonald's bathroom!

C & W.

Mr. Mike & R witnessing. This guy's 80! Saved. Sweet fellowship with God's people.

Me, witnessing. This lady later got saved! C Luna next to me. (I didn't realize how many Luna's are in our photos!)

C, Corina and Glenda (new convert) witnessing!

I LOVE this picture! If you only knew who these two teenage boys (young men), praying with the other boys, were before they got saved! God is awesome!

New convert witnessing!
Jamie...awesome testimony!

"Brother" Ben...alter call...this guy stayed for almost the whole concert (about 2 hours).

Us. I am surprised I have a smile on. I was totally exhausted.

This ended it all!

Anne, I can email you more photos of folks if you'd like.

Just a few things to share with you guys. I wanted to share some of the books that I've read here lately. This one's the only one that I have a photo of, at the moment. It's a juvenile historical fiction about Abraham and Sarah (Sally) Lincoln's life. It's one of those HF that tell you enough detail that you know a bit more, but also interesting enough so that you want to read more about the topic.

Just a few layouts for you.

My favorite color...

And oh yes, two of my favorite Red Sox players. Papi and Youuuuuuk! Youk has been one of my faves since he came up through the minors. He's always done his job, played the game, many positions. And Papi who can't help but like him!

photo from the Boston Dirtdogs.
We are going to a baby church this Fri/Sat for outreach, concerts, etc.
Have a great weekend!

And the Winner is...

This is What They Call…

The sirens growing louder and louder everyday
As I fall farther and farther away
I’m dying just staying right here
I’m starting to disappear
I can’t pick myself up
I feel so numb

The doctor puts me on a stretcher
They push away the snatchers
They’ll grab and take away my life
I felt like I’ve been cut with a knife
The nurse dresses my cuts and scars
I’ve fallen too far
I felt my back was up against the wall
But this is what they call a hospital

I was carried in a soldier’s hand
I was shot by an evil man
I had cuts in my stars
Many peoples lives were torn apart
Many choices people had to take
The sacrifices we had to make
I was the flag that was ripped and torn
To have this country born

As the soldiers put their helmets on I felt like I was wrong
With the looks on their faces
I thought I had come to the wrong place
With the glare in the enemies eyes
I felt like I was gonna die
With our faith we scared them like a herd of cattle
This is what they call a battle
Behind the jail bars
I wonder if I went to far
Dressed in black and white
All the choices I made weren’t right
People say this prisons inescapable
They say your choices are unchangeable

When I got the chains on my hands and feet
I knew I had been beat
I knew my life was over
And I had nothing that I could cover
But as someone walked in
And set me free from my sins
But this is what they call grace
This is what they call mercy
I knew I was unworthy
But salvation is what brought me to this place
We just got news that C won in the 7th grade-poetry, in the County Writing Fair!! We don't know what place. I am guessing that all of the homeschool entries went to county. Only upper grade won out of the homeschoolers.

Flowers and Love Notes

Most days, when I download the photos on our camera I get silly self portraits of the kids. This morning I got this lovely sunset. Who took it I don't know. Michele and I made these for a friend's bridal shower. I have to tell you what a blessing the shower was to me. This lady, is a new convert. Watching her grow in God and wait to get married has been awesome. To see her last night in tears and laughing, having a FAB time was awesome too. She was so grateful and excited for just us being there and for her gifts. It was a shower that blessed me!

Here are the first roses of the year!

After coming in the house this morning from cutting the roses, J tells me there's something on my bathroom sink. Ok...is it bad? (He was trying to conceal his giddiness and be matter of fact.) I found this sweet note..."Thack You for teahing me and feeding me. I Love you MOM! Love J." (I will overlook the misspelled words for this one!)

He wrote one to each of us!

"Heated" Warning

A few things this morning. The kids are still in bed. We are going to get a late start on school.

It's the middle of April and our heater (set @ 60) is still coming on! It is rather cool for this time of year. I am NOT complaining at all! Stay this way for awhile longer. Just wish the wind woulf stop. EVERYDAY it's so windy. Not having rain makes everything so dusty. Now I'm complaining!

I also wanted to warn you. According to the new DHS report (more on that here) I am/could be a major threat to you and this country. I fall into a few (probably more) of their people groups to be aware of.

So, be careful around me. I support life, am a Born Again christain, against big government, husband is a wartime vet and armed (and legged too), etc. Just wanted to warn you!

Oh I am on Facebook too. Long story. But if you're already there check me out. If not I can "Befriend" you!

Have a great day!

Wednesday

"A Matter of the Heart"
by Beth Moore

I've arrived at a conclusion,
maybe one of life's rare finds
that there's not a lot worth salvaging
within this heart of mine.

It's ever ready to destruct
and lie above all things...
It tends to laugh when it should cry
and mourn when it should sing.

I've wasted countless hours begging,
"Fix this heart, Lord, please!"
while it stomps it's feet, demands it's way
and floods with sin's disease.

At last, you're able to get through
and lay it in the line:
"You must give up that heart of yours
and trade it in for mine."

So I cry out with the psalmist,
create within me, Lord
A new heart crystal clear
that only Calvary could afford.

A heart which pounds the rhythm
of heaven's metronome
and issues forth a boundless love
and beats for You alone.

I want to love that which You love
despising what you hate
and see myself as least of these
oh Lord, retaliate

The efforts of the evil one
who seeks to make my plea
that of his own, "I'll make no move
til I've considered me."

Peel away my fingers,
finally make me understand
the power to love and please You
can't be found within a man.

So, my Lord, I bring this offering;
a stubborn heart of stone
And ask You, in its absence,
please exchange it for Your own.

This is from a study my mom got us girls awhile back (Living Beyond Yourself). Thanks Mom!

Here's C and I playing the intro to a Kutless song. In the real one it's only played once, but we liked it so much we did it over and over and over...! It's been a LONG time since I've played! Yikes! Please excuse our mistakes!

Been Busy

I have been busy as usual. Running around, doing photo boards for church, the Design Star contest is still going, life. I wanted to show you some of the latest LO's that I've made. These two are just silly... J took these himself. Had to clean up the nose a bit! Haha!

This was a blurry photo of C that I just loved. She is so beautiful!

This is my brother's son, for those who don't know. I miss him badly!!! This Thanksgiving he ran right up to me and gave me a big old hug. He's sit down with me too and just smile with those eyes!

And last but not least, Bea. She comes up many times in our conversations. We have so many good memories!

Gotta run. Working on a picture board. Have a great day!

Busy, Impromtu day

I hope I spelled the title right! Anyhow, Today we have been non-stop. We had our usual school (which took longer than normal), laundry (which isn't even half done), dishes, cleaning and grocery shopping. Then we drop off bills, washed the car (semi by hand), the kids really enjoyed that and we took an totally impromptu field trip!

While in IGA (we still call it that), we had to see if they had defective tortillas. They did and our friend Isaac was there. I asked about field trips, so he gave us one right then and there , with a free tortilla hot of the presses! Way fun!

I still have laundry, dinner and follow-up tonight. And I need to fit in bass practice some where. Can someone spare a few extra hours for me?

Have a great day!

Rain Come This Way

Excitement and a Deal

What a few days! I'm going to work backwards from today to a few days ago.

I go to an online local Yard Sale site where people can sell/but items here locally. There's one item for free that I was like "What!?" Someone actually put a piece of paper up for free!! Just a plain old piece of paper. Someone claimed it! I know people joke around, but a piece of paper!

Today is the day that we (at ScrapMatters) show off our latest kit. Round four of the contest we had to make a full kit. So in a few hours I'll be posting that. I don't know exactly when they'll pick the winner/s. I hope soon.

Also, today I cleaned the carpets and R is going through his stuff in the garage! Do you want to come over?? heehee It is WINDY once again! We've had winds up to 60 mph this week. You can't see the mtns. because of the dust. Yuck!

Thursday night, around midnight police & ambulance came around our corner, down our street. One of our neighbors' houses. It worried me because they have a newborn and two other kids. One of whom is J's age. More on the boy later. The next day, we went over to see what happened. The newborn was choking on milk and couldn't breath. She is okay and the mom was touched that we came by.

This family has been on out hearts a lot lately. The son is the neighborhood pain. Sorry, but he is. He was nice for awhile at first, then, we think out of jealousy, turned against J. He would literally ride by our house and make mean faces, talk about R and J, saying awful things. J even hit him once because of the stuff he'd say. He is not the most innocent kid either. The family speaks broken English, and are a different religion then us. None of these we have a problem with. When the mom was over due with her baby, I really began to pray for her and the family. J put in a prayer request for them too. I tell you something has changed in the boy. He bought J an ice cream from the ice cream truck. He is nice now. We never had a problem with the family, just the boy. So when we saw the ambulance there, we were really concerned.

Oh, also this week C found these cool shoes at the thrift store. R had always liked Chuck Taylor's (the old style high tops). He was just talking about them. She got some black, white and pink ones for under $4! Too cute. The guys are both jealous! Here's LO I made of them!

Have a great day!
