I'm up LATE. Trying to adjust from the time change from vacation. I was just blog surfing and came across this. You can go here and enter to win a tin that bakes these cute desserts! If you win you'll have to make me some!! LOL!

Okay, I've been up since 3:00am! Yeap. I got up to use the restroom and couldn't go back to sleep. Maybe it's the superfood! LOL!
Anyway, we leave for Az & Ca on Sat. in the morning. We will be gone for a week. We don't have a laptop, so no blog posting for me. Sorry. We are so excited!
C got a "job". Well, it's volunteering at a local shop one day a week. (Thanks Anne for the idea.) They just told sure, come Tues. So when we come back she'll be a "working girl". She is very excited.
Must go wake the kids!

We were low on gas and since we were driving uphill it looked like we were on E. The road was bumpy, hence the blurry photo!

I have to be honest here, I am just as tired of the political ads, flyers, etc. as the next person but I have been wanting to write something like this for some time. I just haven't been able to put it all together. Today it my last chance to do this.
America to Me
In high school I didn't like America all that much. From the things I was taught and read I thought America was a bad place. I was even the second most liberal person in one of my classes. (We took a test and divided the class up.) However, today I am proud to be an American. A land of the free. I have learned of the sacrifices that many people have made to make it great and to keep it free. I have learned of other countries and seen what socialism, dictatorship does to a country.
It is an honor that people are still willing to risk their lives to get here and become a citizen. To be American. I thank God that I was born in a land where people of any race can rise as high as they want.
In America the human spirit is a powerful thing. When you know that you can achieve greatness even when you may have to overcome some hardships, nothing can stop you. Where a human is not stifled by socialism or class envy, there is a desire to better oneself and the country. To know that as a woman or man, black or white, baby or adult, handicapped or not your life matters. Your life is precious and is protected at all costs.
I thank God that there are men and women who give their lives for this country and my freedom, my life. I feel safe knowing that there is a strong military protecting us.
When I hear the national anthem, see our flag wave, say the pledge of allegiance or hear our jet fighters fly over a sense of pride rises up inside of me. Our country has fought for the betterment of people, for life, for freedom of religion. People have died for my right to even write this freely without fear. This election is a historical one no matter who wins. However, this election can change America as we know it and as she was meant to be. I love my country and I don't want her to change any more to become like other countries. If anything, I want her to become the great country she was meant to be. That is why I am voting for John McCain, for Conservatives.

Okay, I'm trying to get back on the ball. Last week I told you I made this Yummy bread. So, I had to share it with you. I found it on AllRecipes.com
